Welcome to my website! I'm thrilled to have this platform to share my passion for weather and connect with all of you. Let me introduce myself.
My name is Jake Lambright, and I'm proud to be a part of the KALB Newschannel 5 team since May of 2024. Weather has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I have been living my dream for almost three years, beginning with the start of my on-air career at the young age of 19 with KNOE-TV in Monroe, LA. Since then, I've had the incredible opportunity to cover a wide range of weather phenomena during my time at KNOE, including severe weather events, dangerous heat waves, and even record-breaking cold spells.
During my time in northeast Louisiana and south Arkansas, I had the privilege of becoming a trusted source of weather information in the community. Rain or shine, I strive to provide accurate and reliable forecasts both on-air and through various social media platforms. I believe that everyone deserves to have access to the information they need to stay safe and make informed decisions. I am looking forward to continuing my commitment to my community in central Louisiana!
With advanced knowledge of WSI Max and extensive experience with handtracking, I bring a wealth of technical expertise to my forecasts. I believe in leveraging the latest tools and technologies to provide accurate and reliable weather updates to my viewers and followers.
Beyond my professional life, I have a deep love for my pets. I frequently return home to visit my three delightful dogs: Grover, Frannie, and Wrigley. They often steal the spotlight on my social media channels, and you may even catch Grover's GROVERCAST, where he helps you prepare for the day ahead by offering fashion advice and essentials to grab before heading out the door.
Education is crucial in my field. I have recently completed the requirements for a Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Throughout my time at ULM, I actively participated in our local American Meteorological Society chapter, serving as Freshman Representative, Historian/Public Relations, and Vice President. These experiences allowed me to connect with fellow meteorology enthusiasts and expand my network within the field.
Beyond the weather, I have a unique hobby that I indulge in during my free time. I thoroughly enjoy repairing iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, MacBooks, and other small electronics. It's a satisfying and hands-on endeavor that allows me to exercise my technical skills and keep up with the latest trends in consumer electronics. I also enjoy flying drones in my free time and now hold a Part 107 license to fly commercially.
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you find the information here informative and engaging. Feel free to reach out, follow me on social media, and join me on this thrilling weather journey. Together, we'll stay informed, prepared, and inspired by the wonders of the atmosphere.
